Begin your journey from the State’s capital of Hobart, a dainty and picturesque city that bases its laid-back lifestyle around the historic harbour that marks its landscape. Spend the day exploring the many delights of the town and enjoy a seafood feast in one of the excellent restaurants by night.
- Kettering
Depart Hobart today and head up the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. If you’re a fan of fishing, drop anchor and drop a line into one of the region’s best fishing spots for flathead, perch, and cod while salmon, mackerel, warehou and squid can also be caught depending on the season. Your destination is Kettering, a small fishing town renowned as a haven for yachtsmen exploring the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Here you will find good marina facilities and delicious restaurants for the evening. The trip from Hobart to Kettering will take you about 2 and a half hours without stopping.

The island is also an ideal place for coming face to face with endangered geese, kangaroos, and wombats.
