Explore Capri By Day...
For a day spent ashore, these are the places to be pampered, the sights to see, the shopping districts to delve into, and the activities to indulge in.
Pampering
Capri Palace Hotel and Spa
Capri Palace Hotel and Spa is a home to wonder treatments, offering an extra measure of romance and sensuality in exquisite luxury settings. Five-star service is a speciality at this exclusive spa, where a range of indulgent therapies are at your fingertips, from peels using coffee and coconut, to stimulating seaweed mud massages.
Sights
Beaches
Rather than visiting public beaches, many sunworshippers opt to enjoy the fabled stabilimenti balenari (private bathing lidos) scattered around the island, some of which offer real relaxation and unbelievable views. One of the most famous is La Fontelina, open from April to October. At the foot of the Faraglioni rocks, the lido's magical setting will enchant you.
Shopping
Capri is the stage setting for designer outfits. The shopping here will take you to designer boutiques housed among the narrow alleys and walkways that characterise the town centre. This is a great place to buy expertly crafted clothing, jewellery and the famous Capri sandals.
Activities
Blue Grotto
The Blue Grotto is a beautiful cave at the water's edge with a tiny opening used as a bath since the Roman times. The entrance is small and depending on the tide, there is just enough space for a small rowboat to fit through. Dark at the entrance, one has to enter 20-30 yards and then turn around to view the beautiful light from the entrance flowing through the water lit turquoise from below. You will be amazed at the turquoise hues glimmering in the water and against the rocks.
