Espen Oeino
Espen Øino is an internationally renowned yacht designer, whose creations include Lürssen mega yachts 126.2m Octopus, 70.7m Skat, and the 78m Madsummer.
Espen Øino began his career at Martin Francis Design Studio, where he became project manager of the legendary Eco project, now known as the iconic Engima.
In 1994, after eight years working as a consulting engineer and naval architect for Martin Francis, Espen set up his own design company: Espen Øino International (EOI). The Monaco-based studio is today one of the leading designers of large custom motor yachts.
EOI undertakes the concept space planning; and detailed design work of each project. In addition to carefully drawn sketches, the team produce two- and three-dimensional digital designs, using the latest technology.
Technical expertise and experience, combined with an analytical approach to the design process ensures that each client’s requirements are incorporated into the design from the outset, minimising the need to make changes during the construction process.
Espen and his 14-strong team have a client base stretching from Asia and the Far East to the USA and Central America. Recent Espen Øino-designed yachts to hit the water include Viareggio Super Yacht’s Candyscape II and RoMa, a 75m Lurssen yacht Northern Star and a 73.5m Silver Zwei built by Hanseatic Marine; all of which were delivered in 2009.
Current projects from the man described as “creator of some of the world’s most famous and outstanding yachts” include several high-profile Lürssen yachts, as well as two very large motor yachts building at the Fincantieri Yard in La Spezia, Italy.
