Matteo Picchio Yacht Design

Matteo Picchio's design studio is located in the heart of Milan, close to via Della Spiga a via Montenapoleone. The Matteo Picchio team specialises in yacht design and naval architecture, employing skilled and experienced designers.

Matteo studied architecture at Politecnico di Milano before becoming a researcher and lecturer on yacht design and architecture. Matteo’s passion for yachting naturally developed into a career, and he opened the Matteo Picchio design studio.

Matteo Picchio’s job is to turn the dreams of his clients into a reality, by personally ensuring that objectives are reached; proposing new concepts as solutions to in order to accomplish each client’s own ideas.

The design studio’s approach to projects is described as both ‘architectural’ and ‘artisanal’. The Matteo Picchio team view architecture as a special form of art that gives functionality the importance it deserves.

Their ‘artisanal’ approach allows the Matteo Picchio team to shape the project around a client’s specific wishes. Matteo works side by side with a client throughout the stages of design to define the frame and style of a project, and prepare for future construction work.

Matteo also acts as a point of contact between his clients and all of the professionals who implement the project; actually managing the construction workshop and ensuring compliance to costs and schedules.
