Gloss Design

Gloss design is recognized as one of the emerging companies in the world of yacht design and for sure as one of the most innovative.

Founded in 2001 by the architect Stefano Carugno and based in Pescara, Italy, Gloss design initially starts its activities in the field of automotive design. After a decade of professional experience, and driven by his passion for the sea, Carugno decides to focus his attention on yacht design. Since 2007 this has become the company’s main activity.

Transportation design is an excellence area and very selective. Working in this field for several years is a crucial experience for a designer, as each aspect of the shape, surfaces and lines are analyzed with obsessive attention. The same goes for proportions and volume balancing, before adding any decorative element.

"We believe that there is still the possibility to express new ideas and entirely new languages in the world of yacht design, never forgetting the primary role of a designer: conceiving and giving shape to functional objects which have to be produced industrially and lead to an actual market."

The current research of Gloss design is aimed to the reinterpretation of nautical themes in a contemporary key, either for the interior or exterior design. The high level of technical competence and experience allows the company to follow and develop projects to their final implementation.
