High-end Danish audio experts Bang & Olufsen have created a new version of their much vaunted BeoVision Eclipse TV that was launched last year, boasting an even more striking visual design.

The critically acclaimed BeoVision Eclipse OLED TV’s most eye-catching feature is its built-in soundbar, which is widely considered the best sounding in-built audio system on any television currently on the market.

Called the SoundCenter, it came with either aluminium or fabric grille on the original. On the new Eclipse Wood Edition, the soundbar is adorned with a beautiful handmade oak panel which takes inspiration from the popular wood-panelled electronics of the 1970s and ’80s.

The new model is the work of award-winning Danish designer Torsten Valeur, best known for a number of Band & Olufsen products such as the BeoSound 1 and 2, and the BeoLab 5.

The new oak wood cover has been carefully designed to ensure that it has no negative impact on the SoundCenter’s sound quality.

“Oak is a material that patinates beautifully, and by adding this option to our flagship TV we reinforce our commitment to provide people with the flexibility to match our designs to their personal interior style,” says Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bierre, Senior Concept Lead at B&O.

The Wood Edition Eclipse will be available from April this year in 55 and 65-inch versions, with prices of $10,995 and $15,995 respectively.
