Dom Pérignon II Cooler By Marc Newson

A collaboration between premier French champagne house Dom Pérignon and designer Marc Newson, this cooler is an artistic answer to an ice-box.

The stylish champagne cooler is the second collaboration between Newson and Dom Pérignon, following the 2006 release of a plastic neon-green cooler created to house a Dom Pérignon magnum.

Made from aluminium and shaped as an over-sized Dom Pérignon bottle, the new design is a smaller and shiner version of the first.

Featuring a bright green label, it holds a standard bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne.

The cooler is priced at $US 1,000.

Newson is renowned for his use of biomorphism in his creations; meaning he begins with an original design for a product before improving on it in various ways. He has worked on a range of items across a number of disciplines including household objects, a bicycle, a concept car, restaurants, and interiors of aircraft for clients across the globe.
