EBay for millionaires opens for business
BillionaireXchange.com is the world’s first online auction and trade website for luxury assets; and unlike its internet competitors, this auction site requires it members to have a minimum net worth of US$2 million.
Launched earlier this week, BillionareXchange (BXE) allows its international list of members to buy, sell, auction, bid-on, and exchange luxury assets all around the world.
Any item of significant value is able to be listed from art, antiques and jewellery to cars, property, and of course the wealthy man’s most prized asset, superyachts.
Currently the Trinity 46 metre motor yacht Big City is listed alongside a host of others with a starting bid of just under US$26 million.
Diamond chess boards, bejewelled iPhones, Miami mansions, French chateaus, antique Rolls Royces, and vintage wines also make an appearance with hefty starting prices.
Members wanting to join BXE are required to register and be subjected to a stringent screening process before membership is actually granted.
Sellers listing their luxury goods on the site are then charged a fee of five percent of the final selling price for each winning bid.
