Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 20 June 2011

Online shopping has always been a polarising activity. Some people love the speed, efficiency and convenience that it offers, whilst others can’t imagine purchasing something without seeing and feeling it first.

One woman has done plenty to enhance the reputation of online retail. Caroline Stanbury is a true modern-day entrepreneur, with an acute sense of what people want from their online shopping experience. This week we interviewed Ms Stanbury and enjoyed a fascinating discussion about her innovative company Gifts-Library.com.

Elsewhere this week we also have a video interview with Jean-Christophe Sibelya of French wine producer Bertaud Belieu. The wine label are renowned for their superb rosé and are now taking their production to the chic environs of St Tropez – perhaps an unlikely wine-making destination, but popular nonetheless.

There’s also an in-depth interview with one of the great success stories of the hotel industry in recent years. Paul Kerr launched Small Luxury Hotels of the World 20 years ago and the online directory has gone from strength to strength. Mr Kerr shared with us the secrets of his success.

And if that’s not enough, we also review one of London’s most exclusive male grooming salons, a truly unique Stockholm hotel, an innovative fractional ownership venture for luxury properties, and the impending sale of the world’s oldest Bentley car. A veritable smorgasbord of luxury news for your consumption. Enjoy!
