In the world of electric guitars, the Gibson Les Pauls has achieved legendary status that makes it the holy grail for strummers everywhere.

Now the iconic instrument has been used as the inspiration for a stunning new timepiece featuring a number of guitar-esque design nods.

Called the Freelancer, and housing a RW5010 mechanical self-winding movement, perhaps most notable among these design features is the watch’s tachymeter bezel that has been enhanced with black PBV inspired by the lacquer on the famous Les Paul “Black Beauty” models.

Furthermore, the watch’s circular guilloché motif features six chords studded by fret-shaped hour markers, while the Gibson Les Paul logo appears at 12 o'clock.

Les Paul fans with an eagle eye will also note the split-diamond inlay gleaming away next to the date window.

Just 300 of the watches are to be produced, each encased in presentation boxes inspired by Gibson guitar cases.

For such impressive collector’s items, it’s no surprise that they come with a hefty price tag. Each watch can be purchased for£2,695.
