Latest Lifestyle News: Hospitality and High Flying

When it comes to notions of ‘good’ and ‘bad’, the world of luxury can often divide opinion. What is beautiful to one person may be quite the opposite to another, and this is the case whether it’s a car, watch, handbag, or even a hotel.

So when renowned membership based company Luxury Travel Intelligence (LTI) recently announced its list of the best and worst luxury hotel openings to take place across 2016, it inevitably caused a significant amount of debate.

Without visiting personally, we cannot vouch for their decision to name Helena Bay Lodge in New Zealand as the best opening last year, but looking at the photos and reading the descriptions offers a strong indication why the striking lodge-style resort earned the honour.

You can read more about Helena Bay Lodge, along with the hotels that challenged it for top spot, as the lead story in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, there’s reports on a new partnership between Etihad Airways and private jet company XOJET designed to push the boundaries of elite flying, as well as a preview of the new S- Class Night Edition Mercedes that has been unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show currently taking place in America.

There’s also news on the Aston Martin Residences in Miami, where pricing has been announced for the property’s lavish apartments that are set to open in 2021.
