High-end German camera maker Leica has teamed up with English luxury travel lifestyle brand Globe-Trotter to design a new limited edition camera for snap-happy travellers.

Based on the Leica’s Q model, it is targeted at travellers with a penchant for high-quality camera gear and comes in a specially produced case based on the historic nine-inch Mini Trotter, a famous model for the Globe-Trotter brand.

The camera also comes encased in Jet leather to match the camera body instead of the usual vulcanized fibre material. This case features dividers on the inside for organizing smaller items, a soft microfiber lining, and convenient inside pocket on the case lid for carrying everyday items such as a wallet and mobile phone.

The limited edition Leica Q’s specifications are the same as the standard model, boasting a 24-megapixel, full frame sensor and a 28mm fixed lens.

Along with the classic Leica ‘red dot’ logo on the front, the camera sports the serial number engraved on the top cover.

Only 50 units will be available for sale, which will only be sold in Leica stores in Japan and the UK priced at around $7,500.

Leica was foundde by Ernst Leitz senior in Wetzlar, Germany in 1849.
