Scuba Series by Liquid Image

Liquid Image Scuba Series HD320 Camera/Video Mask

Presenting an innovative solution to underwater leisure photography is Liquid Image who produces the world’s only dive mask that features high definition 720P digital video plus five mega pixel photos.

Unveiled earlier this year at the CES show in Las Vegas, the Scuba Series HD320 Camera and Video Mask allows divers to capture high-def digital video and photos hands free underwater.

The high-def video is 720P (1280 x 720) and capable of recording at up to 30 frames per second with audio. The mask also incorporates a five mega pixel still image camera.

Operating to a tested depth of 35 metres, the Scuba Series HD eliminates the need to carry a hand-held camera and is not only suitable for use by scuba divers but also for snorkelling, spearfishing, and freediving.

Extra features of the most advanced Liquid Image model include adjustable light attachments for maximising photo-quality for dives below five meters; enlarged lever-style buttons for easy use when wearing diving gloves; and a darker silicon skirt for shielding peripheral vision from distraction while filming.

The Scuba Series HD is operated by the diver lining up crosshair marks on the mask with the object of the photo and pressing the capture button. Users are aware the camera is activated by LED lights within the viewing area which indicate the mode being used.

Once back on land the images and video taken can be downloaded to a computer through the provided High Speed USB cable or alternatively via a Micro SD/SDHC card.

Standard with the camera mask is a 64MB Flash internal memory and a Micro SD/SDHC Card slot that allows for the memory to be upgraded to 32GB.

Distribution for the Scuba Series HD is slated for spring 2009.

Liquid Image also produces the VideoMask Series D1, and 3.1 and 5 mega pixel version of the Explorer series.
