London Fashion Week Draws Global Crowds
Currently taking place in the UK capital is London Fashion Week, showcasing the world’s best designers as well as attracting thousands of fashion fans, buyers, journalists, photographers, celebrities and key industry figures.
Amongst the highlights at the 6-day event is The Exhibition, a display of 120 emerging and established accessories, jewellery and ready-to-wear designer brands, each showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2012 collections.
Taking place at London’s Somerset House, The Exhibition features a range of new exhibitors including footwear designers Alain Quilici, Alejandro Ingelmo, Julian Hakes and Kat Maconie.
Other notable shows include Rock Vault, a new fine jewellery initiative to support, showcase and promote Britain’s most innovative fine jewellery talent. As part of this initiative, ten selected jewellers are showcasing their A/W 2012 collections at Somerset House.
Fashion Week will close on Wednesday with Menswear day, featuring 7 shows, 4 salon shows and two presentations.
It is estimated that orders of over £100 million are placed during London Fashion Week each season.
