German airline Lufthansa have teamed up with compatriot carmakers Mercedes-Benz to design a stunning private jet cabin concept.

Currently in development for the Lufthansa’s fleet of short and medium haul executive jets, the concept cabin boasts an array of lavish features including windows that can be electronically controlled to darken when required, similar to the “Magic Sky” technology in Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars.

Mercedes also aim to integrate digital touchscreen displays into the panelling or the surfaces for easy passenger access.

The cabin also includes hardwood floors, plush wraparound sofas, reclining white leather seats and a double bed, while dark brown wooden panelling along with white upholstery and accents lend the cabin a futuristic and spacious feel.

“Our goal is to offer a highly discerning global clientele a standard of interior design that leaves nothing to be desired,” said Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President VIP and Executive Jet Solutions for Lufthansa.

“Whether for private or business use, our modular completion concept perfectly fits every purpose.”

The concept was showcased for the first time at the 2015 EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition) in Geneva, Switzerland, last week.

Lufthansa is the world's fifth-largest airline in terms of overall passengers carried.
