Macallan Lalique 57-year-old whiskey soon to be released

In the second oldest vintage ever to be bottled by Macallan, this 57-year-old is being released in a limited edition run of just 400.

The third release in the limited edition series from the Scottish distillery, the 57 consists of two casks; an American Oak sherry butt, and a Spanish Oak.

The latter is a combination of three other sherry butts, mixing vintages from1949, 1951 and 1952 to produce the blend for the latest bottling.

The previous two vintages in the season were a 50 and 55-year-old expression. The 57-year-old is being bottled at 42.3 percent.

Among the 400 bottles to be released 72 will head to the USA, and each will be available with a price tag of US$15,000.
