Cartier ID One Concept Watch to stand test of time

Luxury French jeweller and watchmaker Cartier has released details of a concept watch designed to require absolutely no repairs or adjustments after its assembly, ever.

Using a combination of innovative materials and cutting-edge technology, the Cartier ID One Concept watch would never require service of the hairspring, pallet fork, or balance wheel which in general are the most problematic parts of a timepiece’s mechanical movement.

The wrist watch is accommodated in a 46mm Ballon Bleu case and constructed of Niobium-Titanium (Nb-Ti).

This alloy is highly wear-resistant and possesses its own shock absorption properties that give it an advantage over other metals.

Although only a concept for now, the Cartier ID One incorporates the materials and technology that is predicted to one day be used in other Cartier models.

More information is expected to be released soon.
