Update: Superyacht Yogi Sinks off Greek Coast
Built in 2011, the 60.20m superyacht Yogi has sank 19 miles off the coast of the Greek island Skyros in the Agean Sea, reportedly due to a mechanical failure in Force 8 winds.
After reading a statement from Proteksan Turquoise, we can now confirm that Yogi had been undergoing some re-paint work at the shipyard in Turkey before it embarked on a journey toward the Mediterranean on February 15th. During her voyage toward the waters of the Med, Yogi was hit by gale force weather conditions off Skyros and sank seven hours after her first mayday call.
It is still unclear as to what caused the vessel to sink bar the leading speculations of mechanical failure; however, the shipyard is now awaiting a meeting with the Captain and crew for further details which should take place this week.
Large enough to comfortably accommodate 12 guests, Yogi has five double cabins and one twin, a large sundeck with Jacuzzi, two beach clubs, a swimming pool on the aft deck, a multimedia play lounge and a massage room, among other high-end amenities.
There are also several dining options on Yogi superyacht, including a Teppanyaki bar on the main deck and a table for 14 on the upper deck, for formal dining. The master suite on the large main deck has its own lounge/day area, his and hers bathrooms, a dressing room and an office area. Below you have the vessel’s specifications.
Yogi had a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a beam of 9.40m and a draft 2.90m.
Burgess Yachts, who were the central managing charter agents for the yacht (costing from €357,000 a week), were unable to comment.
