The greatest joy in the Virgin Islands can be found in exploring its myriad of hidden bays and secluded coves. Days spent by the glistening sea are an endless amusement, brimming with diving marvels and windsurfing paradises.

Pampering
Peter Island Resort
The spa at Peter Island Resort is built on its own secluded beach and lies just 45 metres from the water. Dock at the resort’s private port and treat yourself to a complete experience for the body, mind, and spirit.

Sights
Beaches
The most desirable beaches in the Virgin Islands are sprinkled all over the sandy chain. Magens Bay Beach in St Thomas is sheltered from strong waves making it perfect for swimming, while Sapphire Beach is a windsurfer’s heaven and a perfect launching point for snorkelling and diving. Trunk Bay in St John is consistently ranked as one of the top ten beaches in the Caribbean, while Caneel Bay is one of the most exclusive tanning spots. On St Croix lies Sandy Point, the biggest beach in the U.S Virgin Islands and as a protected reserve for sea turtles is an excellent spot for catching a glimpse of these amazing creatures.

Bays
Tortola is home to the chic Apple Bay, where exceptional restaurants sit on the edge of excellent surfing waves, and Smuggler’s Cove has secluded sunbathing spots. Jost Van Dyke has some delightfully deserted hideaways, such as Sandy Spit and Sandy Cay, and White Bay is famous for its drinking spots. Virgin Gorsa is home to the snorkelling paradise of The Baths and Devil’s Bay.

Shopping
Jewellery
The Virgin Islands are exceptional for finding exquisite and unique jewellery. Samarkand Jewellers on Tortola stocks true Caribbean gems, including Virgin Jasper natural stones found in Tortola, Dominican Republic Amber gems and Larimar, and Pink Conch from the Caribbean coral reefs. Diamonds International in Charlotte-Amalie allows visitors to select their favourite stone and mount it in the ring of their choice.

Unique Pieces
Artistic Jewellers in St Thomas offers designer jewellery, gems and watches and at Bernard K. Passman you will find the world’s leading sculptor of black coral art and jewellery. For the Caribbean’s own version of Tiffany’s, Cardow Jewellers is the place to find unusual and traditional designs of the world’s finest jewellery.

Activities
Jost Van Dyke
For excellent anchor spots, head to Jost Van Dyke, where just off the island’s majestic white beaches lie perfect places to spend a day on board. White Bay Beach is surrounded by highly-visible waters, overflowing with brilliant corals and intriguing marine life easily viewed from the deck. Sailing further east will bring the oases of Sandy Spit and Sandy Cay. As both are only reachable by boat, these quiet areas provide an ideal place to enjoy any water toys that may be on board. Jet-skis, water-playgrounds and snorkel gear are made for places like Jost Van Dyke.

Diving
The most famous diving site in the Caribbean is The Wreck of the HMS Rhone, off Salt Island, and when exploring the hollows of this massive mail steamer, it’s no wonder why. Off St Thomas, Cow and Calf Rocks has an amazing network of coral tunnels, while Frederiksted Pier and Buck Island off St Croix boast a world pf exotic creatures and hidden grottoes.

Golf
Golfing enthusiasts should not miss playing what is arguably one of the most beautiful courses in the Caribbean. Mahogany Run on St. Thomas is home to the notorious cliffside "Devil's Triangle". St Croix also boasts the challenging Carambola Golf & Country Club, and there is an excellent course at the Buccaneer.
