Head ChefSpeaks: EnglishVancouver, at one time and still quite possibly could be the city with the most restaurants per capita in the world.......a culinary melting pot ... an explosion of cultures, blends, and infusions...at the same time savoring & honoring old English traditions. Impossible to live in Vancouver and not be passionate about food...so one would think. Or maybe you are born with it as she reminisces...the sweet smell of peaches and cherries bursting with ripeness and flavor. The purple cheeks, lips and tongues of families of children gathered round an old wooden picnic table pitting and slicing fruit to ready for juicy sweet pies and soft muffins. They had to be perfect because mom would sell some in the corner store. Well what else do you do in small lake town (population of 100!) of Moyie in the interior of British Columbia. After years in corporate Canada selling Real Estate and opening a clothing boutique, the passion for food kept surfacing so in 1996, quite by accident heard a friend’s conversation about the wonderful world of yachting so she decided to give it a try! Thirteen years on world class yachts, six times around the world and every opportunity taken to learn from the "locals", Sherri delights in tickling your taste buds and creating a memorable culinary experience whether it be for the tradition of old England, Italy, or the gastronomy of France and Spain to the infusion of countries from afar. - Joni Matheson

StewardessSpeaks: EnglishBorn in South Africa, but grew up in Malawi-a little country nestled between Mozambique and Zimbabwe. I had a wonderful childhood in Africa! We had two pet baboons who liked to drink tea when it was cold outside and monkeys-as a result of my father's love of animals and need to rescue those that could not speak for themselves! We moved back to South Africa in 1994, I finished high school and decided I needed to see a little more of the world besides Africa...the furthest I'd been at that point was Israel in 1998 for my father’s wedding. I lived in the Turks and Caicos Islands for a while, learned to dive while I worked at a hotel. After much soul searching I decided to pursue my career in aviation which had been abandoned before I left South Africa due to being unsure of whether I was only interested in aviation because of my father-a fixed wing pilot. I left the Caribbean with a few pennies in my pocket, spent all my money on doing my STCW95 courses (to be able to work on yachts) and fortunately found a job within a week (this was in 2006). I've been in the Industry on various yachts ever since then, which allows me to travel extensively and I'm able to supplement my helicopter training without taking out loans. I did my helicopter / private pilot in March 2008 and recently my instrument rating. Eventually I'd like to be instructing to build hours and hopefully you'll see me flying Agusta's for a corporate company one day soon. - Audrina Munoz

Even though her position as a stewardess aboard M/Y Martha Ann is her first in the yachting industry, she is very experienced in the service industry with several years of working in restaurants and tourist information centers (in Stockholm and Paris). this means assistance and personal guidance comes natural to her and that she is always tending to her clients needs with a welcoming and positive attitude. Lucia has also been working on ferries in the Stockholm archipelago, and has taken part in a sailing expedition in the Caribbean in 2005, making her used to the working conditions at sea. StewardessSpeaks: SwedishAlice grew up in Ludvika, Sweden, which is about 3 hours drive from the capital, Stockholm. She just celebrated her 20th birthday and is the youngest person in the crew of Martha Ann. After reading an article in her local newspaper about a Swedish girl who had worked on yachts and travelled the world, Alice knew that she too could excel in the yachting world. Motor Yacht Alwaeli (72 meter) was the very first yacht which Alice worked on. After having overcome all of the challenges during two weeks charter with Bahrain royals, she was day working for a shorter period on M/Y Eminence before she got the temporary role on 115 meter Pelorus. In the first 2 months that Alice entered the yachting industry she had already worked on 3 Mega Yachts – one of which could arguably be listed among the most beautiful yachts on the water. Alice has been horseback riding for ten years and has excelled in various equestrian events including show jumping and dressage. Alice enjoys socializing with her friends and reading. She also enjoys children and shopping. Her dream profession in the future would be as a pediatrician. She is fluent in English and understands Norwegian and Danish. - Vanessa C. Matten
