  • Philip Walsh
    Philip has maintained a high level of safety and security as a professional Captain in the yachting industry for over twenty eight years. Growing up in Sydney with its beautiful harbour and surrounding beaches kept him on the water at every opportunity. Since the early 80’s he has operated both private and charter vessels worldwide including many seasons in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Pacific to the Arctic and, over the years, has gained exceptional knowledge of many beautiful anchorages and destinations.

    Although in his first year on Mogambo, Troy has been in the industry since 2005. Growing up in a small coastal town in Australia, Troy has never been far from the water and is an experienced surf life saver and scuba diving instructor. Over the past nine years Troy has worked in some of the most exotic and remote yacht cruising grounds in the world, including Amazon River, Red Sea & Pacific Ocean. He is dedicated to ensuring that you thoroughly enjoy your time on board, so please don't hesitate to call on him any time!
  • Jindra Trechova
    Chief Stewardess
    Jindra grew up in the Czech Republic and has been working in the yachting industry for five years, joining Mogambo this season in Genoa, Italy. As Chief Stewardess on her previous vessels she has travelled the Caribbean, North America and the Mediterranean. Jindra’s hobbies include mountain biking, diving, travelling, she likes to read and socialise. She is passionate about hospitality, food and fine wines.
  • Beverley Walsh
    Bev is from Australia and for over twenty five years has worked alongside Captain Walsh on both private and charter vessels. Together they have cruised most areas of the world including the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Mediterranean and the High Arctic. She is on board to ensure that all guests receive the highest level of service and hospitality. In her spare time she likes to paint and savour the atmosphere of new places.
  • Alex Correa
    Dining on-board Mogambo is one of the many highlights of each charter. The creative force behind each menu, created to satisfy the most discerning palate, is Alexandre from Brazil. Alex’s professional culinary training encompasses international cuisines, including European, Latin American, and Asian, including the art of sushi. With a thorough understanding of wines, Alex is able to pair his delectable dishes with complementary vintages for a genuinely gastronomic experience. Alex has a love of languages and speaks English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

    Also in his second year on Mogambo Rob enjoys cooking cuisines from all around the world. He was professionally trained in Melbourne, Australia and furthered his culinary education in multiple countries including Norway, Austria and France. His passion is towards serving Mediterranean dishes with fresh healthy ingredients and elegant presentation. In his spare time Rob enjoys photography from portrait to architectural and of course, food photography. His hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, travelling and mountain biking. Rob speaks German and basic Swedish and has a strong desire to learn more.

    Second Stewardess
    Jen is another new addition to Mogambo this season and brings with her experience from other premier yachts in the industry. She is a proud citizen of the exotic country of Honduras, and after completing her Business Administration degree she spent time as a French and Spanish language teacher in both Europe & Australia. Whilst in Europe Jen met a sailor and found her way into yachting with a genuine desire to exceed our guest expectations, Jen is very approachable and will always have a smile on her face. Jen has a passion for wine & in her spare time loves to travel, dance salsa and learn new languages.
  • Chloe Smith
    Joining us for her first season in the yachting industry, Chloe is a strong addition to our interior team. She takes pride in providing quality care and service through her work. Previously qualifying in childcare, our on board British nanny offers fun and excitement for families with children, promising a memorable stay on MY Mogambo. She has a passion for creativity and loves to seek out adventures. In her spare time Chloe can be found exploring new places and trying new activities. Her favourite activities include kayaking and jet skiing.
  • Kiera Cavanagh
    Kiera is from Chichester in the United Kingdom and has just made a crossover from working on a sailing yacht to join us on motor yacht Mogambo. Having grown up within a sailing environment, racing dinghy boats throughout childhood and travelling around Greece with her family on their Beneteau 50’ Kiera has always had a love for the sea and thrives when on the water. With a love for fashion, reading and singing Kiera is an enthusiastic and optimistic individual who wants to continue to grow within the yachting industry.
  • Emelie Boom
    Emelie is from Gothenburg, Sweden. Her 8 years experience in the hospitality industry, knowledge of service and her passion for wine led her into the yachting industry one year ago. Emelie has a very optimistic and friendly nature. You will always see her smile. She likes to travel and visit fine restaurants. In her free time she also enjoys interior design, reading and crossfit.
  • Sophie Hanley
    Australian Sophie grew up in Tasmania and has been in yachting for four years after several years of experience on board Cruise Ships as a beauty therapist. This is Sophie’s 2nd year as a team member on Mogambo. Her hobbies include surfing, yoga and playing the piano. She studied beauty therapy and nutritional medicine in Australia.

  • Paul Thompson
    Having grown up on a busy dairy farm in Australia, Paul developed both an aptitude for hard work and a great affinity with the sea. He joins Mogambo with a good experience from working on different vessels over the past four years. He is a very fit lad, a sports fanatic and highly skilled Australian Rules football player. He also has a passion for water sports and will always encourage the guest to make the most of Mogambo array of water sports equipment and facilities. Paul will always be found with a smile on his face & ready to do whatever he can to make your time on Mogambo everything that you want it to be.
  • Stephen Boylan
    Stephen spent his first 8 years of his life in the UK before his family moved to Napier, New Zealand. He has completed two seasons in yachting on board smaller motor yachts before setting his sights on larger yachts joining us here on Mogambo. Stephen has a strong passion for personal training and nutrition and is always happy to help in this area. He has a love for water sports, enjoys wakeboarding, surfing and diving and is always keen to try new things.
  • Douglas Burchill
    Born in the heart of the Lake District in North West England Doug has come from a background of water and greenery. After University he decided to travel, visit countries in the east and southern hemisphere and trying to decide how he could work and travel at the same time. This is when Doug decided yachting was the career path he has been waiting for. Doug has a little creative fling, teaching himself to play guitar and going to art school when he was younger. He enjoys playing and watching sport such as football.

  • John Lewis
    Our ITO John has been working with Mogambo since June 2012, finally joining the team as a full time crew member last season. Bringing his experience with the AV and IT systems he ensures the smooth running of the technology on board. Outside of yachting John enjoys music, whether it be playing, writing or recording. He is also a proud, lifelong supporter of the City of Hull, Yorkshire.
  • James Edge
    Second Officer
    Having grown up on the sea James is very comfortable with all water activities. He teaches water skiing and wake boarding and when he is not on the water he enjoys organising events and mountain climbing. He has worked on yachts for seven years and is working towards his masters.
  • Lars Klinkby
    Chief Engineer 1
    After travelling extensively abroad straight out of school Lars felt it was time to go back to study in Denmark. Three years later he found himself on commercial ships on voyages up Chinese rivers, crossing the Great Lakes hauling sugar bags from Brazil and bananas from South America to Japan. After a stint on Prawn trawlers in the North Atlantic he joined his first yacht, more than 10 years ago. Lars keeps the technical department sharp which ensures the guests a smooth experience. Any outdoor life also keeps him happy in his off time.
  • Markus Maksimainen
    Chief Engineer 2
    Markus is from Finland and has been working at sea as a Chief Engineer on commercial ships for twenty years and for the past ten on board on yachts. He has a Bachelor Degree in Maritime Management, is an avid sailor and has covered many miles in his schooner “Laura” including a round the world passage. In his spare time he likes to ride his Harley, fish and enjoy time in his authentic summer cottage in the Finnish archipelago.
  • Maciej Szalc
    Second Engineer 1
    Maciej graduated with a Master’s Degree in Marine Engineering in 2002 from the University of Szczecin in Poland. He has travelled the world extensively in his professional career and in 2005 started working in the luxury yachting industry. He likes outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, tennis, football and water sports.
  • Piotr Buksakowski
    Second Engineer 2
    Being a classmate of Maciej’s while obtaining his Master’s Degree in engineering it was an easy transition from commercial ships to yachts where he spent several years before joining Mogambo in 2013. When on leave Piotr enjoys time with his young family hiking swimming, fishing and bike riding.
