Weather in French Polynesia

French Polynesia can only be described as having a tropical climate with warm winters and hot, sunny summers.

The winter season sees the less amount of rainfall and sunlight hours still remain long with an average of 11 per day, making this the best season to visit the island region. Temperatures sit between 21C and 29C although days in the 30s are not uncommon and humidity is generally a high 75 to 80%. Although summer heralds marginally warmer temperatures, the rainfall is increased six-fold during some months and is best avoided. It is worth noting that the Marquesas Islands which are located much closer to the Equator have warmer climates with increased rainfall.
