Weather in Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands enjoy a temperate climate: the maximum temperatures are not excessive, even in high summer, owing to the cooling influence of the sea. The climate during the winter is generally mild and dry with occasional showers.

Due to the fact that weather in the Balearics is a Mediterranean experience, which means good high humidity combined with genial summer temperatures, a mild but occasionally rainy autumnal season and cool winters with temperatures rarely sinking below zero. The year round average temperature for the Balearics is 21 degrees centigrade on the coast. Sunshine days per year are good, working out to about 300. Unlike the Canaries however, the Balearics with their Mediterranean climate experiences cold and wet weather from October to February so a beach holiday in October may not a good idea, though it would be perfect for walking and cycling inland.
