Weather in Corsica

Corsica holds the sunshine record for France and the island, along with the rest of the Mediterranean, is buffeted by the winds while the temperature is moderated by the mountains. Average summer temperatures reach a balmy 25°C and can climb to as high as 35°C in July and August.

Sea temperatures peak in mid-July, but the days in the early season are longer and the level of air clarity means that the sun can get quite intense. The days shorten towards the end of the high season, but the sea will stay warm enough for swimming until mid-October. Even during winter temperatures can top almost 15 degrees Celsius although the hours of dayight shorten considerably to average around four per day.
