Weather in Cote d'Azur

The Côte d’Azur is renowned for its pleasant climate throughout the year, as well as for its sunny and dry weather during the summer. Lined along its southern side by the sea, the Côte d’Azur soaks in the warmth of the Mediterranean climate and is the hottest region in France.

Rainfall is rare along the coast and the winter months are relatively mild, though the presence of the mistral can sometimes make the cold weather particularly violent. This French stretch of the Riviera receives almost 300 days of sunshine a year with the daylight stretching for longer between June and August. Temperatures rarely fall below 7 degrees Celsius along the coast in winter while the summer heat offers a welcome contrast with maximum temperatures of around 29 degrees Celsius.
