Aquarium

Perhaps the highlight is the stylishly designed Acquario Di Genova, Europe’s largest Aquarium. Euro opened in 1993 with 10,000 specimens belonging to 800 animal species and 200 vegetal species. With 71 exhibition tanks hosting over 10000 specimens, and beautifully reconstructed Mediterranean and tropical environments, it really is a rare and wondrous sight to see for both young and old alike.

For an indulgent day spent perusing the latest designer fashions, the shopping corridors radiating from Piazza De Ferrasi are unrivalled. The amazing boutiques on Via XX Settembre, Via E. Vernazza, via Roma, and the myriad of elegance in Galleria Mazzini present shoppers with endless buying options.


Via Orefici and Via Luccoli
For a special something uniquely Genoan, wander down via Orefici and via Luccoli and peer in the windows of the artisan studios and antique shops for a one-off piece. Finale Ligure can perhaps be called the adventure capital of the Italian Riviera, and docking in the beautiful seaside town offers an excellent base for thrill-seekers and keen adventurers to enjoy a day on the land. Rock climbing is particularly enticing, with the area offering fantastically diverse sites with over 20 crags and 2000 routes. Situated in a succession of valleys in the hills behind Finale Ligure, the area can be explored alone or with a personal guide, returning each evening to the comfort of your yacht and the lively nightlife around the Finale Marina. For more adventure pursuits, try parasailing, hang-gliding or kite surfing.


Winter Sports
With the pretty snow resort town of Limone Piemonte less than an hour’s drive from Genoa, an excellent day trip can be made to enjoy the region’s spectacular downhill and cross-country skiing, snow boarding, ice-skating and paragliding. Or in the summer months, spend your time rafting, canoeing, cycling, horse riding or hitting the golf course.


Wineries
The spectacular Italian wine region of Piedmont is home to magnificent scenery and superb food, and as one of Italy’s lesser known wine regions, makes for a perfect escape from the coast.
