Owing to its multi-cultural past, the island is known under a number of guises including St Barths, St Barts and St Barth all of which pertain to the same small piece of paradise in the Leeward island chain. Despite its popular allure, St Barths manages to offer all the island delights of sand, sun and sea but with a mellower atmosphere than some of its Caribbean neighbours, ensuring it remains an opulent hideaway for luxury escapists.

Dramatic Surroundings
The island is framed by dramatic hills that run the length of its sweeping coastline, dotted with dainty villages, luscious valleys and chic seaside towns. Off-shore the scenery is no less spectacular as a fantasyland of coral reefs and aqua lagoons rise from brilliantly translucent waters, perfectly designed for unforgettable diving and snorkelling experiences.

Opulence Meets Charm
The main town of Gustavia carries a quaint tranquillity through its brightly painted shops and comfortable cafes but flaunts its modern flair in the high-end designer boutiques that line the main shopping strip of Rue de la Republique. The resort town of St Jean is also worth a visit for its boutique stores, pretty beaches and top-class hotels.
What St Barths lacks in size it more than makes up for in sheer sophistication, presenting discerning travellers with fashionable boutiques, sumptuous cuisine and opulent hotels to rival any of her bigger neighbours. It is also home to a truly spectacular harbour at Gustavia Port which can accommodate 60 yachts up to 200 feet in its inner harbour and 100 more in its outer waters.

Yachting Culture
With stunning scenery and a luxurious lifestyle perfect for yachting, St Barths is the perfect location from which to enjoy a variety of first-class sailing events. As host to some of the most prestigious events on the superyacht calendar, St Barths really comes alive in May when the St Barths Bucket Regatta arrives in town; a prestigious and world-renowned race for superyachts over 100 feet. The Saint Barth’s Cup and International Regatta are also fabulous events in which to compete or simply sit and enjoy. The yachting calendar is constantly being updated though, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for new events and updates.
