Nauta DesignCompany profile
Born in 1985 and acting initially as a yard, Nauta Yachts presented a style and an idea to the market which proved instantly successful, as they designed and built semi-custom sailing yachts, both innovative and soberly elegant. They produced sailing yachts which were both innovative at that time and featuring timeless beauty, such as the Nauta 54’, 70’ and 65’ semi-custom series.
Since 1994, they turned from production into design, brokerage and charter, focusing on project (general arrangement, interiors and exterior styling) of custom sailing and power yachts, project management and construction consultancy, co-ordination and control.
There is no such thing as a universal concept of what an ideal boat should be. Everyone has their own opinion. And whatever your opinion, Nauta Yachts can turn your vision into a yacht of remarkable and unmistakable character. Logic dictates where two contradictory concepts are concerned, you have to choose one or the other, you just can't have both. Nauta Design are different. They see contradictions as a challenge. A yacht has to be an object of extreme beauty, that in years to come, will always give pleasure to the onlooker.
A 25 years experience in general arrangement, exterior styling and interior design allows Nauta to develop a project work in-house, custom tailored to every specific need, thus creating a balanced blend of elegance and ease of handling, style and performance, comfort and seaworthiness.
Nauta Design conceives on their own all the preliminary project of a yacht. This is the phase when the "look" of the yacht is born: from the initial concept, a simple sketch that often holds the core to the distinguishing features of the yacht-to-be, they take care of every aspect of the aesthetic and functional approach of the project, with the drawings of the general plans, the hull design and the modelling of the superstructure, the interior and deck layout(s), and eventually the sail plan.
The next phase is dedicated to working out the executive project, with meticulous attention to detail in defining the styling and all the functional aspects, by using state-of-the-art tools and leading edge technologies. Also, in this phase a Naval Architect most qualified to develop a specific theme will be chosen according to the owner's preference. His task will be to fine-tune the area of performance. This successful partnering of great design and excellence in naval architecture, which has been up and running now for over fifteen years in collaboration with world top designers such as Bruce Farr, Reichel Pugh, and Doug Peterson, allows each project to fuse aesthetic and functional sensibility, to the best know-how from the world of competition.
