Van Oossanen Naval ArchitectsCompany profile
Van Oossanen Naval Architects was founded by Peter van Oossanen in 1992. Originally established as a naval architect consulting firm, the business has today blossomed into one of the world's most successful and prolific naval architecture and engineering firms with a particular specialism in innovation and high-performance yachts.
Although Van Ossanen Naval Architects is prolific in working across a range of highly advanced special-purpose marine vessels, Van Oossanen is probably most renowned in the superyacht industry for its patented work on the highly successful FDHF (Fast Displacement Hull Form).
The FDHF is specially designed for high performance at both high and cruising speeds, and has cemented Van Oossanen Naval Architects' highly deserved name as one of the most prestigious naval architecture firms in the world.
With a background in hydrodynamics, Van Oossanen Naval Architects approaches each new project with a thorough knowledge of what makes for the most efficient, high performance and sustainable superyacht. This expertise has led to a constant emphasis on research, improvement and innovation, collaborating with designers and shipyards to always push for the best possible result for the client.
Founded by Peter Van Oossanen in 1992, the firm is now managed by Perry Van Oossanen and his business partner Niels Moerke. With a dynamic and multidisciplined team based in the Netherlands, the approach of the team at Van Oossanen is in constant adherence with the highest standards both internally and externally. Perry Van Oossanen and Niels Moerke are both members of the Netherlands Society of Yacht Designers and Naval Architects, while several of the firm's staff are also associate members.
