Named for the brightest star in the constellation of Auriga, prestigious 59m explorer yacht CAPELLA C has been guiding sailors safely across the globe since her delivery in 1968.

Built by Scheepswerf Gebr. Pot as an auxiliary hydrographic vessel for the Royal Dutch Navy, CAPELLA C was then used as a pilot vessel in Rotterdam Harbour before her conversion to a luxury expedition yacht in 1985.

Presented for sale in impeccable condition, CAPELLA C’s reinvention as an explorer yacht saw her retain her classic 60’s profile with the addition of a host of modern features ensuring she is capable of circumnavigating the world in complete comfort.

Her latest refit was carried out in 2017 and included the addition of a full size helicopter deck plus a redesign of her exterior decks with space to carry two 9-metre tenders.

Managed by a professional crew of 14, CAPELLA C is capable of cruising to the remotest parts of the world in style and has previously hosted guests including members of the British Society and H.S.H. the Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

Designed by the Royal Dutch Navy, CAPELLA C was built at Boele’s Sheepswerfen shipyard in Holland and launched in 1968. Built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, she was repurposed as a yacht in 1985 and was completely refitted in 2017 with the addition of a full-size helipad.

Powered by triple Deutz-MWM diesel electric engines, CAPELLA C has an impressive maximum cruising range of 4500 nautical miles at 10 knots with a top speed of 14 knots. Equipped with a full displacement hull, she has a gross tonnage of 902.0 GT and a 10.6 m beam.

Fully modernised during her last refit, CAPELLA C’s expansive exterior decks include a full-size helipad aft with raised storage for two 8m tenders. Forward of the helipad is an observation area on the flybridge with a choice of outdoor lounge and dining areas on the lower decks plus easy access to the water via the fold-down transom door.

With accommodation for up to 22 guests onboard overnight, CAPELLA C’s staterooms can be found on the lower and main decks. Her sumptuous full-beam owner’s suite is located forward on the upper deck and features a private lounge area, a full ensuite bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe.

Pairing long-range cruising with premium comfort, CAPELLA C has multiple living areas where guests can relax after a long day exploring the world’s most remote destinations.

On the main deck you’ll find a vast salon with a full wet bar plus a formal dining room for up to 12 guests. An additional lounge/dining room can be found adjacent to the master suite on the upper deck and can be privatised to create an owner's deck when cruising.
