Lürssen’s Nausicaä is a 114.2-metre full-custom superyacht currently in build and scheduled for delivery in 2026.

Conceived as one of the most forward-thinking yachts ever produced by the German shipyard. Formerly known as Project Cosmos, she is designed to push boundaries in both aesthetics and sustainability, combining cutting-edge technology with a highly distinctive, futuristic design language.

The yacht features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with an exterior and interior conceived entirely by Marc Newson, resulting in a sculptural profile defined by sweeping curves, extensive glazing and a strong emphasis on light, openness and connection to the sea. Her large volume, estimated at over 6,000 gross tonnes, allows for expansive interior spaces while maintaining a relatively low, streamlined silhouette for her size.

Technically, Nausicaä stands apart through her advanced hybrid propulsion system, which integrates traditional diesel power with methanol-based fuel-cell technology. This allows the yacht to operate in a low-emission, near-silent mode at reduced speeds, marking a significant step forward in sustainable superyacht propulsion. Performance and comfort remain central to the design, with careful attention paid to noise reduction, vibration control and long-range cruising capability.

Accommodation is arranged for a limited number of guests to ensure privacy and comfort, supported by a professional crew, while onboard amenities are expected to include wellness facilities, observation lounges and generous exterior deck spaces. Overall, Nausicaä represents a bold evolution of the modern superyacht, blending visionary design with environmental responsibility and reaffirming Lürssen’s role at the forefront of innovation in the ultra-large yacht sector.
