Vitalia II

Designed by Gilles Ollier, she was transformed into a high-performance cruising yacht while preserving the speed, efficiency and lightweight construction that defined her racing career.

Built entirely in carbon composite, VITALIA II combines exceptionally light construction with a very broad 16.90-metre beam and twin daggerboards. Her draft varies from approximately 2.95 metres with the boards raised to 5.85 metres with them lowered, providing a balance of performance and access to shallower cruising areas. Her sailing plan includes a 45-metre carbon wing mast, Park Avenue carbon boom, carbon beams and bowsprit, and a complete North Sails wardrobe.

The yacht was extensively converted for cruising by Multiplast and Groupe Carboman, with exterior design by Domicile Fixe / Stephane Lauro and interior design by Narrative / Daniel Domergue. The conversion introduced a central accommodation pod, spacious guest areas and a more comfortable cruising layout while maintaining the yacht’s original performance-focused character.

Accommodation is arranged for up to six guests in three ensuite cabins, including an Owner’s cabin in the central pod and two additional double guest cabins located in the hulls. The central saloon incorporates the galley, dining area and Owner’s accommodation, while the expansive deck spaces are divided into several social and relaxation zones, including large forward and aft trampolines and a teak-laid cockpit.

Crew accommodation is arranged for up to four in two separate cabins with dedicated access from the deck. The yacht is designed to operate with a relatively compact crew for her size, reflecting the practical approach of her original racing platform.

Auxiliary propulsion is provided by twin Volvo Penta D4-175 diesel engines, each producing 175 HP, driving folding four-blade Gori propellers. The yacht has a reported cruising speed of around 10 knots under power and a range of approximately 1,000 nautical miles at 8 knots.

Overall, VITALIA II is an unusual and highly distinctive performance cruising catamaran, combining the pedigree of a world-record racing yacht with the space, comfort and practicality required for long-distance cruising.
