WINGMAN is an 80.1-metre expedition support yacht built by Damen Shipyards and delivered in 2022 following the conversion of a proven offshore support vessel.
Designed to accompany a primary superyacht on extended voyages, she combines commercial-grade reliability with the functionality and refinement expected of a modern superyacht support platform.
Rather than serving as a traditional guest yacht, WINGMAN is purpose-built to provide the operational capabilities that enable long-range cruising and expedition-style travel. Her expansive working deck, certified helicopter landing area, heavy-lift crane, and extensive storage spaces allow her to transport tenders, watercraft, expedition equipment, spare parts, provisions, and other mission-critical cargo while freeing the primary yacht to focus on guest comfort and entertainment.
Powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system with twin azimuth thrusters, WINGMAN offers exceptional maneuverability, fuel efficiency, and ocean-crossing capability. Her robust steel hull and offshore engineering heritage provide the durability and reliability required for demanding operations in remote regions, from tropical cruising grounds to high-latitude expeditions.
Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests together with a professional crew of approximately 20, enabling the vessel to support a wide range of activities including helicopter operations, diving, scientific expeditions, security, logistics, and extended global cruising. Onboard workshops, technical spaces, and generous storage areas ensure that maintenance, repairs, and expedition support can be carried out independently during long periods away from port.
Today, WINGMAN is widely recognized as one of the most capable and sophisticated support yachts in operation, serving as the shadow vessel to the 118-metre superyacht Launchpad. She exemplifies the growing trend toward dedicated support vessels that extend the operational range, capability, and self-sufficiency of the world's largest private yachts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and expedition readiness.
