Largest Yacht in the World - Eclipse

Worlds largest yacht Eclipse
Eclipse the World's Largest Yacht

Eclipse is set to become the world’s largest yacht when she is delivered to her owner from Blohm + Voss, later in 2010. Eclipse, widely reported to be commissioned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, will not only become the largest yacht, but also the most lavish yacht on earth, seizing the crown from the current holder, 162m Dubai yacht.

After four years in construction, she graced the world’s waters for the first time in June 2009 and is now awaiting delivery.

Subject to confidentiality agreements akin to the visit of a Head of State, Eclipse has been the subject of a media frenzy ever since her launch in 2009. The actual length of motor yacht Eclipse remains unknown, but it is believed that she reaches between 162 and 170 metres in length.

Although her length is, as yet, unclear, there are certain details that have been confirmed. With dramatic styling and stunning interior design by celebrated London-based designer Terence Disdale, Eclipse boasts facilities for up to 62 guests in 24 luxury suites, all of which feature 100-inch private cinemas.

She can also accommodate up to 92 staff, ensuring that guests on board Eclipse enjoy luxury and service of the highest order. And there’s more. Eclipse’s on- deck area includes a 16m on-deck swimming pool which in the evenings becomes a dance floor, not to mention a Jacuzzi and two helipads. Eclipse can also accommodate an enormous selection of toys and tenders, including three helicopters and a private submarine.
