A Prada Bakery is Coming to London’s Mayfair

Iconic Italian fashion label Prada is bringing its prestigious Marchesi 1824 bakery to British shores, it has been announced.

Occupying an enviable position above the brand’s flagship Galleria store in Milan, the bakery is set to see a new branch open in the upscale London district of Mayfair.

Located on Mount Street, the new bakery’s design is as sophisticated as you might imagine, featuring pastel hues and vintage cherry wood counters alongside antique glass displays.

The menu will boast everything from traditional panettone to sugared almonds and vibrantly coated chocolates, and there’s also an in-store espresso bar.

London’s Marchesi 1824 is expected to open its doors in April 2019, with large crowds anticipated from day one.

Prada’s acquisition of the Milan bakery brand led to a  glitzy design makeover with glass, soft greens, and sharp angles dominating the second store at Via Monte Napoleone, before a third opened in Italy’s oldest shopping centre, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Prada was founded by Mario Prada in 1913.
