Apple Launches £1,700 Phantom Wireless Speaker

French high-end audio makers Devialet are to launch a new range of wireless speakers in Europe after signing a distribution deal with Apple.

The Devialet Phantom speakers will be available to purchase in 10 Apple stores across the continent – including two in the UK – priced at up to £1,699 (for the silver version, as pictured above). It will also be available for sale online via Apple Stores in these countries.

A 100% wireless sound system that integrates revolutionary technologies to process and emit sound, the Phantom is the result of 10 years of development and is protected by 88 patents.

It is said to emit an ultra-dense sound with zero distortion at full power, zero background noise and zero impedance.

Devialet’s distribution agreement with Apple follows a deal they signed last year with Harrods department store, which at the time marked the French brand’s arrival in the UK.

Speaking about the latest deal, Joachim Fritsch, Managing Director of Devialet UK, said: “Celebrating our first anniversary in the UK with a distribution deal with Apple is another considerable milestone in our company’s young history in this country.

“Our initial successes have helped us further grow our presence in the UK and gives us confidence in the rolling out of our ambitious long term strategy of becoming a leading audio brand in British consumer’s everyday lives.”

Devialet was founded in 2007 by engineer Pierre-Emmanuel Calmel following his revolutionary discovery, ADH Intelligence, which is credited for having changed the nature of sound amplification.
