Apple Series 4 Smartwatch Gets the Hermès Treatment

By Paul Joseph

American technology giants Apple have launched an updated version of their smartwatch, the Series 4, that's available with a number of lavish design touches by iconic French fashion house Hermès.

The Apple Watch Hermès Series 4 edition features handcrafted leather straps and exclusive watch faces, while other design changes from its predecessor include thinner bezels and a larger display.

Buyers can choose from single or double strap watch bands in ombré colours that match the shifting colour blocked display of the watches.

The colour combinations include navy blue/ivory/orange, pink/burgundy and a double strap version that features two shades of pink and burgundy.

As for its smart features, not only can the watch track heart beat data and heart rhythm, it offers a full ECG using just an app. Other features include a faster chipset, a new gyroscope that can detect if the wearer falls, a redesigned digital crown that offers users haptic feedback, and a speaker.

Meanwhile the “caseback” is now made from black ceramic and sapphire crystal and the watch is available in aluminium and stainless steel versions. You can also choose from grey or black stainless steel, or the new gold stainless steel variant.

Single tour straps are priced at $339 while the double tours cost $489 on the Apple website.

Founded in Paris in 1837, Hermès has grown to become one of the world’s most famous luxury labels.
