Astell & Kern $1,200 Earphones to Debut at Berlin Show

By Paul Joseph

High-end audio manufacturers Astell & Kern are to launch their latest high-tech earphones at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin which kicks off tomorrow.

Priced at around $1,230 (£799), the Ti8e in-ear headphones are the first to feature Beyerdynamic’s Tesla technology, which contains powerful ring magnet technology that transmits the entire audible frequency spectrum.

According to its makers, this allows users a personal audio experience that can accurately reproduce deep bass and high treble frequencies better than most other options on the market.

Hand-made and ergonomically designed, each set will be sold with a leather carry case, detachable Kevlar-reinforced cables and a choice of ear-tips, including silicone and foam options.

The earphones also come with a specially designed 2.5mm four-pin connection cable, so they can be used with any of the portable audio players built by Astell & Kern.

The IAF trade fair takes place from 4 – 9 September.
