Audemars and iPads: a Dynamic Duo

By P. Joseph

Renowned for its time-honoured, family-run working practices, Swiss watch maker Audemars Piguet has entered the realm of cutting edge technology by launching an iphone and ipad application showcasing a wealth of watch-related digital content.

With the use of stunning graphics and streamed video, the app will allow users to view a range of material including new products and innovations, as well as insights into the mechanics of watch-making.

The graphics on the iPad version are particularly sophisticated, enabling users to magnify the content and zoom in on the timepieces to discover their finer details.

Both versions of the app will also include an interactive feature called “Try it” that enables you to “virtually” sample watches by placing photos of the models over your wrist. Users can then share the images with friends via email or MMS.

Additional functions include an integrated GPS allowing you to locate Audemars Piguet stores across the world, lending a practical benefit to what is designed as a playful variation of the company’s website.

The new application is available to download free of charge from the Apple Store:
