Audio-Technica Create Limited Edition Wood Headphones

By Paul Joseph

Japanese audio equipment makers Audio-Technica have created a series of limited-edition wood headphones to mark the company’s 50th anniversary.

Limited to just 2000 units worldwide, the ATH-W3000ANV over-ear headphones are made with Asada Hokkaido cherry wood housing with Echizen traditional Japanese lacquer finish.

The wood housing is optimized to suppress unwanted vibration due to the combination of wood and titanium.

Utilizing a 53mm driver with OFC7N voice coil, the driver units are built with stronger magnetics than are typically used on other models.

The ATH-W3000ANV wood headphones also come with special Lambskin earpads hand-crafted in Spain.

Founded by Hideo Matsushita in 1962, Audio-Technica have grown to become one of the world’s most successful audio manufacturers.
