Bang & Olufsen Launches BeoLab 50 Loudspeaker

By Paul Joseph

Danish high-end audio experts Bang & Olufsen have unveiled a brand new loudspeaker billed as combining sophisticated sound and beautiful design.

Called BeoLab 50, it was inspired by the innovative BeoLab 90 that is considered to have set an entirely new standard for state-of-the-art loudspeakers when it was launched in 2015.

The performance of the BeoLab 50 is a result of the acoustic research and technological development of the BeoLab 90 and shares several features with its predecessor.

The new BeoLab 50 delivers an exceptional performance through innovative sound control technologies, while the loudspeaker’s distinct appearance allows it to fit elegantly into any interior space.

The silhouette of the BeoLab 50 is slender, tall, and rounded by floating lines and visible edges. The silver-polished aluminium surfaces and warm oak wood lamellas are recognisable trademarks of Bang & Olufsen products.

The bottom part of the speaker is designed to visually lift the speaker from the floor, keeping a light expression of clear posture in the centre.

Other notable features include the pioneering Active Room Compensation technology. Using an external microphone, the speaker measures its physical acoustic surroundings and applies the ideal compensation filters to produce optimum sound throughout the entire room.

The unique Acoustic Lens Technology, a Bang & Olufsen signature that handles the sound dispersion of the upper frequencies, is applied on top of the speaker. The lens disperses the sound via Beam Width Control into a 180-degree sound mode for optimal listening enjoyment.

The BeoLab 50 is available in select Bang & Olufsen stores worldwide, priced at £22,930.
