Bang & Olufsen Reveal Beoplay A1 Bluetooth Speaker

By Paul Joseph

Danish high-end audio experts Bang & Olufsen have released a new ultra-small Bluetooth speaker called the Beoplay A1.

The minimalist, simple looking Bluetooth speaker is billed as offering unparalleled output while connecting owners with a world of audio services, all at a price of $292.

No larger than a human palms, the 13.3mm diameter, anodized silver and muted grey plastic body has a striking appearance, while a leather leash makes it easily portable.

It accommodates inputs including 3.5mm aux-in and USB for charging, while a cable accompanies the set so that you can keep the 2,200 mAh battery fully charged for a 24-hour performance – albeit at moderate volumes.

The plastic portion is the base and accommodates buttons for play, pause, volume, pairing and power.

Other notable features include a microphone and the ability to synch with other A1 speakers for fuller, wider sound.

Founded in Denmark in 1925 by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, Bang & Olufsen has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned designers of high-end audio products, television sets and telephones.
