Bang & Olufsen Unveil BeoPlay A6 Speaker System

By Paul Joseph

Danish high-end audio makers Bang & Olufsen have created a new wireless all-in-one speaker system called the BeoPlay A6.

Boasting a distinctive curved shape, the speakers have been designed to blend into their surroundings thanks to designer wool-blend fabrics from Danish studio Kvadrat.

Available in multiple colour options, the A6 features 2 woofers, 4 tweeters and a single full-range speaker with a built in amp.

In terms of functionality, they offer an intuitive interaction using swipe and tap gestures. Swiping in any direction at the top of the speaker changes the volume, tapping and holding the centre mutes the audio, while quick taps in succession skips tracks.

Users can stream audio to the A6 through a variety of options from standard Bluetooth and DLNA to Airplay. Services like Spotify, Deezer and TuneIn radio will work via Bluetooth.

The BeoPlay A6 by Bang & Olufsen is priced at $999.

Founded in Denmark in 1925 by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, Bang & Olufsen has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned designers of high-end audio products, television sets and telephones.
