Blancpain Unveils X Fathoms Diving Watch
Luxury Swiss watch manufacture Blancpain showcased its latest concept timepiece, the sporty X Fathoms, in Dubai at the end of October.
Billed by Blancpain as the most high-performance mechanical diving watch ever produced, the X Fathoms was launched at the emirate’s extravagant Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.
Boasting a depth measure of up to 90 meters, the X Fathoms’s 9918B movement is based on the Manufacture-made Calibre 1315, which features in several models in the brand's popular Fifty Fathoms collection.
The watch's 55.65 mm case, wrought from satin-brushed titanium, is water-resistant to 30 bar, whilst other notable features include a helium decompression valve for saturation diving and unidirectional rotating bezel.
Optimal legibility has been achieved with the three-colour luminescence's contrast with the dial's matt black background colour.
