Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet GMT a Jet-Setting Essential

By Paul Joseph

With just over two weeks until the 2018 edition of Baselworld, premium watch brands are busy preparing to make the journey to the global heartland of horology.

Among them are Blancpain, the historic Swiss watchmaker whose journey will be shorter than many. Along with them for the ride to Basel will be the Villeret Quantième Complet GMT, an augmented version of the triple calendar with moonphase, one of the brand’s best ever sellers.

This latest version is billed as a must-buy for the world’s frequent fliers, equipped as it is with a 24-hour MT hand for tracking a second timezone.

The 40mm watch displays the date, the day of the week and the month; the latter two through windows and the former using a pointer. It is available in steel and red gold editions and is water resistant to 30 metres.

The watch’s lugs bear correctors that allow the wearer to adjust the various calendar functions whenever necessary.

The Villeret Quantième Complet GMT by Blancpain will be on display at Baselworld between 22 – 27 March.

Blancpain was founded by Jehan-Jaques Blancpain in Switzerland in 1735.
