BMW Concept M4 Unveiled at Pebble Beach

By Paul Joseph

Amongst the array of striking automobiles at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, which took place on Sunday, was the M4 concept car from BMW.

The concept car boasts several features consistent with BMW's new M4 (F32) model, which is set to debut in January, including pumped fenders, chunky 20-inch alloy wheels and and carbon fibre on the roof and exhaust tips. It is also equipped with the same powerdrome hood that features on BMW's M3 Coupe.

At the front of the car, three large air intakes feed air to the car's high-performance powerplant, while vertical air vents located at the outer sections of the bumper - known as an air curtain - ensures the aerodynamic closure of the wheel arches, enabling improved air flow and efficiency.

Other notable features on the M4 concept car include muscular wheel arches, sporting side sills and a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic roof. Meanwhile at the rear, a small spoiler is integrated into the trunk lid whilst below this is housed a diffuser with four exhaust outlets finishes in carbon fibre.

The 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is one of the world's most prestigious car events.
