BMW Marks 100 years with 100 Special Edition 7 Series Cars

German luxury carmakers BMW have unveiled the BMW Individual 7 Series ‘THE NEXT 100 YEARS’, the latest edition to the company’s 7 Series fleet.

The new car was announced alongside the ‘Montblanc for BMW’ Centennial Fountain Pen, an exclusive product created by the coming together of BMW and German luxury goods brand Montblanc last year. A version of the pen will be handed over to every owner of the centennial BMW car.

Taking place in the presence of a select audience, the pen and the car were covered in cocoon-like enclosures while Hildegard Wortmann, BMW’s Head of Product Management Automobile und Aftersales, and Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc, delivered speeches.

The event also played host to an exclusive craftsmanship exhibition by both companies, with a leather expert from BMW and a calligraphy master from Montblanc demonstrating how hand-braided piping and calligraphy are carried out in all their artistic works.

Montblanc was founded by Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein in Germany in 1908, while BMW was founded in Germany in 1917.

The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan produced by BMW since 1977.
