Bond Movie Jaguar Set to Fetch $1 Million at Auction

A Jaguar C-X75 concept car that featured in the iconic James Bond movie ‘Spectre’ could fetch more than a million dollars at auction.

The original car is set to go under the hammer in Abu Dhabi at the end of November, where it is being tipped to fetch up to $1.2 million.

First unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the car was created in partnership with Formula 1 team Williams and its advanced engineering division.

It features a hybrid powertrain with gas turbine engine providing electricity, and can pump out 780 horsepower.

Initially 250 examples were intended for production, but eventually just five prototypes were built along with a handful of stunt cars for the movie.

The stunt cars were mechanically different from the concept car and were powered by a version of the Jaguar F-Type’s V8 engine.

“Not only did it make for one of the most intense and technologically advanced chase scenes in a Bond film to date, but it is a production car that never was, and built in partnership with Williams F1 no less, says Will Smith, car specialist at RM Sotheby’s.

The car will go to auction at RM Sotheby’s Abu Dhabi sale on November 30 and will come with a bill of sale, a movie call sheet and a specification sheet from Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations.
