Bonhams California Sale to Feature 10 Rare Ferraris

By Paul Joseph

Bonhams is to hold an auction featuring 10 exceptionally rare Ferrari sports cars in California next week.

Spanning almost three decades of production, the “Maranello Rosso Collection” will feature Ferrari models with a total value of over $33 million at the Quail Lodge sale in Carmel, California.

Amongst the strand-out Ferraris will be a 1953 Ferrari 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta, which was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1953, and inspired a range of models including the 250 Tour de France, 250 GT Short-Wheelbase and 250 GTO.

Other models to be sold will include the 1962 250 GTO Berlinetta, the Dino 166/246T, a 1978 F1 312 T3 and a 512 BB that competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours race in the early 1980s.

This Maranello Rosso Collection is just a small part of the sale organised by Bonhams, which will include the auction of over 300 lots on August 14th – 15th.
