German car tuning company Brabus has announced the introduction of the Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet – claiming it to be the world's most powerful four-seater convertible.

Based on the current Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the car boasts a heavily-modified V12, 6.3 litre engine, delivering 788 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft. of torque. It can reach 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds and can hit top speeds of 231 mph.

Two special exhaust manifolds with integrated larger turbochargers have also been added in addition to four water-to-air intercoolers.

Brabus-designed suspension components are teamed with adjustable Bilstein dampers and stiffer springs to deal with the enhanced engine.

The car’s interior trim comes in lipstick red and black leather with a special, ergonomic steering wheel and carbon-fibre trim on the dashboard, centre console and door panels.

The car will be priced at €478,000.
